Adding a Vehicle
 
Login: Enter your username and password and click login

 

 

 

 
Stock Listings
From here you can delete, add or edit vehicles.

To add a vehicle
Click submit new vehicle

 

 

 

Submission page:
Fill out the form with the vehicle details, certain fields such as Dealer ID are pre-filled and cannot be changed.

Make: Must be limited to the Vehicle Manufacturer only i.e Ford or Vauxhall or MG.

Model: Must also be limited to model only i.e Focus or Vectra or F.

Variant: Can contain the rest of the vehicle type i.e 1.8 turbo diesel saloon or 1.8 Design etc.

Price: Must only contain numbers, i.e 5995. Commas or pound signs in this section will not work i.e £5,995 .

Registration: Enter the registration you wish to show on the website, Either 02 or Y.

Year: (not shown below) Enter the Year for the vehicle either 2002

Car Type: Please select the correct type from the dropdown list, either Car, Commercial, MPV or 4x4.

Picture1: This should contain the file name of the picture associated with this vehicle, if there is no picture available, please leave the field pre-filled with the photo_soon option. The same applies for Picture 2, 3 & 4 where applicable. For full details see submitting a photograph.

Description: Please enter the addition specification relating to the vehicle i.e power steering, central locking. Exchange and Mart do not accept quotation marks "" and all are deleted before data is transferred, please use the word inch in 16" alloy wheels for example.

Colour: Please enter add the vehicle colour

Fuel: Choose either petrol, diesel or LPG from the dropdown list. (This will not show on the listing but helps with search results)

SortInfo: Please select the correct vehicle type from the dropdown list (note this field is not always used, please check your own sites submission form and complete as necessary)

Important Note: Empty spaces before or after the text in any field may cause the submission to fail or not appear on the website correctly.

Add the vehicle: Click the "Insert Record" button, the vehicle will immediately be added to the correct sites, either click4cars.com or click4vans.com plus your own Blue 10 website if you have chosen the Exchange and Mart option, vehicles added before 2.30pm will appear on the next days Exchange and Mart listings.

Important information about photographs

All photographs must be in JPEG (.jpg) format.

Preferred size 640x480 pixels (not essential).

Photos must have unique filenames.
To prevent accidental deletion of other vehicle pictures, a unique name for every photograph is essential.

Importantly vehicle pictures should be identifiable, a photo named for example DSC0003.jpg may not tell us which vehicle to add the picture too

Photographs should ideally be named in one of the styles below.

DealerIDregistration.jpg    example rcvabc123.jpg (where rc is the dealer id and the reg is vabc123)

This is not an idea choice where full registrations are not added to the system or you choose to have number plates pixelated.

or

DealerIDmakemodeldate.jpg is acceptable if there are not several different vehicles on your site of a similar make and model uploaded on the same day.

example rcfordfiesta1504.jpg (where dealer ID is rc. vehicle is a Fiesta and picture uploaded on the 15th April)

or

If you are adding a photo to a vehicle already on the system, the best option by far is

DealerIDstocknumber.jpg this makes the photo name unique and clearly identifies the vehicle it should be added to.

example rc4567.jpg (where dealer ID is rc and vehicle stock number on our system is 4567)

In our example vehicle above, the photograph should be called rcv123abc.jpg where rc is the dealer ID and v123abc is the vehicle registration number. Where multiple pictures of a single vehicle are required please use rcv123abc1.jpg in picture1 and rcv123abc2.jpg in picture etc.

This picture upload facility appears on the "submit a vehicle" page, simply click the browse button and select the photo you wish to upload, repeat this with pictures 2,3 and 4 if you are using multiple images, then click "Upload Pictures"
This can be used to upload pictures at any time, you do not need to add a new vehicle just to upload photos.

If you photographs are large it is recommended to only upload 2 pictures at one time.

Note: The photo(s) will not appear on the websites until processed by us within 4 working hours.

How to email a photograph using Outlook / Outlook Express
 

Click the paperclip.
If you cannot see the paperclip (arrowed) you may click the Insert menu at the top then choose File...

 
Browse to the image you wish to send, then double left click on the file, this will attach the selected photo to the email. You may then click Send.
